DR. JORGE PARTIDA
Our CEO, Dr . Jorge Partida is a clinical and research psychologist, specializing in addiction and trauma. He is also an author, consultant and national speaker integrating Native Ancestral Teachings with traditional Western psychotherapy. Dr. Partida obtained his bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology from Loyola University and his PsyD from The Illinois School of Professional Psychology (ISPP).
Dr. Partida has been a consultant on many national and international projects designing and implementing clinical programs to address addiction, education, health, community building, diversity, and spirituality. He has worked with local and national governments to coordinate services for those most impacted by poverty, war and displacement. He has worked in Liberia, Africa in the repatriation of boy soldiers, forming “intentional communities” in war and poverty impacted countries such as Colombia, Peru, and Mexico.
Dr. Partida has extensive experience presenting mental health segments for television and radio with networks, including Univision, Telemundo, HITN-TV, CBS, UPN, NBC and PBS.
His areas of expertise include Addiction, Trauma, Curanderismo and Spirituality, and Intentional Community development.
CEO & FOUNDER
Dr. Patricia Ramos is Co-Founder of the Ometéotl Ancestral Institute, a training organization dedicated to ancestral healing practices, founded alongside CEO Dr. Jorge Partida. Ometéotl brings generations of indigenous wisdom into dialogue with contemporary healing and community care
Patricia's commitment to this work is deeply personal and rooted in decades of grief and trauma work. Patricia's path to helping found Ometéotl has been anything but linear, yet throughout her long career, she has bridged ancestral wisdom with modern systems of education, sustainability, and healing.
As a flight attendant and interpreter, the position took her across the globe to Latin America and the South Pacific, where she was introduced to indigenous coffee-growing communities. Those relationships, and her respect for the growers' traditions and labor, inspired her to found and operate her own coffee business for over two decades. The experience of cross-cultural connection, trade, and respect for ancestral agricultural knowledge continues to inform her approach to ancestral healing work today.
As Counseling Faculty at Santa Monica College, her work was grounded in listening, mentorship, and helping students reconnect with their own path. This shaped the reflective, person-centered approach she still brings to the Ometéotl Ancestral Institute today.
Patricia went on to a nearly two-decade career in workforce and economic development leadership at Santa Monica College, ultimately serving as Dean of Academic Affairs. Among her proudest accomplishments, she helped found her college’s certificate in Aquaculture, a multidisciplinary program designed to advance sustainable food systems and prepare students for careers addressing climate change. She is well known for helping mobilize California's Blue Economy workforce by founding the Blue Economy Climate Action Pathway (BECAP). In 2024 she launched the first certificate and degree program in Homeless Service Work to upskill the nonprofit homeless-services workforce, and in 2026 supported the development of the first fully accredited barbering program in a Los Angeles juvenile detention facility.
Through Ometéotl, Patricia continues the thread that has run through her life's work: helping people and communities reconnect with their roots, their resilience, and their capacity to heal.
Patricia also founded and leads The Wave Makers, a workforce and government affairs consulting firm that partners with public agencies and educational institutions to advance economic development and equitable workforce strategies.
Dr. Ramos holds a Doctor of Education from the University of Southern California, a Master of Arts in Education Counseling from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and completed Executive Education at the Harvard Kennedy School. She has served in numerous civic leadership roles, including as a Commissioner on the Los Angeles County Workforce Development Board and the Woman’s Commission in the City of Santa Monica.
